I once tried it at a coffee shop in Midtown New York on a hot summer day and oh gosh! I fell in love. From then on it has become my favorite coffee cocktail, it is especially good for hot summer days when you feel like “I need my caffeine now”, but tired of plain cold brew or iced coffee and not willing to get extra sugar and calories from all these fancy “frappuccinos”. I have a formula for you. Citrus and tonic flavors combined with espresso is something to try for sure. Enough words, try for yourself and stay cool:)

My favorite coffee cocktail with citrus and tonic. Ideal fix for hot summer days. Citrus and tonic flavors combined with espresso is sure something to try.
1 oz tonic water (I use Fever-Tree, but regular Schweppes is good too)
1/2 zest from 1 orange, squeezed or dried orange slices
3 ice cubes
Instructions
Make espresso.
In a 8oz glass, add ice cubes.
Pour over tonic water.
Add orange zest, squeezing it with your hands. Fresh zest is the best, but when I'm lazy and want to avoid the mess, I use dried orange slices from Trader Joe's. Works just fine.
